I'm 33 years old and live in the beautiful coastal city of Newcastle, Australia, with my husband Pete.
I'm a full-time freelance Web Designer & Front-End Developer which has been my job for the past 12 years. I really love my work and am excited to see where technology is taking us, and how we're shaping it as we go to make our lives better.
When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, watching geeky TV shows with Pete, writing music, gardening, reading, running in funny-lookin' shoes, working on my pet design projects, baking cakes, and getting in a few hours of MineCraft or xBox360 (current addiction - Skyrim).
Some things I'd like to do in the next few years? Get a puppy. Figure out how to grow decent carrots. Release another music album (via Kickstarter this time). Spend a few weeks in Japan. Volunteer. Run a half marathon. Throw an awesome fancy-dress party. Have a positive impact on the future of the Internet somehow.

I'm a Web Designer and Front-end Web Developer by trade with 12 years commercial and government experience. My speciality is in producing clean, easy-to-use website designs which I build in responsive, standards-compliant HTML & CSS, sprinkle with jQuery, and then port to the WordPress and MODx Revolution Content Management Systems (CMS).
My sub-specialities include eNewsletter design and development, website usability and accessibility, prototyping, eCommerce, search engine optimisation (SEO), social media integration, and simple web content writing.

is harmony steel your real name?
It is :) I get asked this a lot. My parents named me Harmony, and when Pete and I were married I took his last name - Steel (I send thank you cards too, I'm an old-fashioned kinda girl).
